Featherdale is a treasure of Australian Native serenity nestled in THE HEART OF western sydney
As soon as you cross the timber bridge over our bubbling brook, you’ll be totally immersed in a relaxing and uniquely Australian wildlife experience. Surrounded by bird songs and a throng of marsupials attentively investigating you on your stroll, you’ll feel a sense of calm wash over you, as you get closer to nature and our wonderful wildlife.
Even when the park is busy, you’ll have no problems getting close to our iconic Koalas, with around 50 of these amazing creatures spread across 6 habitat areas, on our spacious 7 acres, you’ll never have to push to get a peek.
We’re wheelchair accessible and have several easily accessible toilet blocks, and parents’ rooms. You can enjoy a packed lunch at our undercover picnic areas or make your day even more hassle free and have a delectable bite at the Treehouse café.
Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is open 7 days a week from 8am till 5 pm.

WHAT'S ON AT Featherdale
GETTING HERE
Situated at 217 Kildare Road Doonside, Featherdale is conveniently located within minutes of Blacktown Station and the Great Western Highway, right between Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
WE’VE ALSO GOT FREE PARKING AVAILABLE right outside our park entrance AND AN OVERFLOW CARPARK adjacent.
- The M2 becomes the M7.
- Take the Richmond Road exit and turn left onto Richmond Road. Continue towards Blacktown for 5.1km.
- Turn right onto Lyton Street and travel for 900m. Continue onto Lancaster St for 400m and then turn right onto Kildare Road and continue for 850m until you reach Featherdale on the right-hand side.

- Follow the M4 to Wallgrove Rd in Eastern Creek.
- Take the Wallgrove Rd exit from Western Motorway/M4.
- Use any lane to turn right onto Wallgrove Rd 1.1 km.
- Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto Great Western Hwy/A44 1.6 km.
- Turn left onto Doonside Rd 2.7 km.
- Turn right to stay on Doonside Rd 500 m.
- Turn right onto Kildare Rd (go through 2 roundabouts) continue for 1.4 km until you reach Featherdale on the left-hand side.
- From the City, take the North Shore and Western line to Blacktown Station.
- Bus stand E is located just outside the station.
- Take the number 729 bus for a 10-minute ride which will drop you right outside Featherdale’s gates.

Once you've finished discovering the 2000 Aussie animals that we care for at Featherdale, take a moment to satisfy your own growling tummies - yours and the little ones! Our scrumptious menu caters to all ages at the Featherdale Treehouse Café.
Enjoy our selection of barista-crafted coffees and teas, complemented by delightful sweet treats, light snacks, and heartier options like burgers and bacon and egg rolls. Our café provides the perfect sanctuary to pause, reflect, and relish the unforgettable moments spent with our remarkable animals.

Our wildlife park stretches across 7 acres of flat terrain, with a few bridges that pass over waterways
Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience a wonderful day at Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park! Wide pathways and gentle ramps are features of Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park to assist people of all ages and abilities in getting closer to our fantastic animals. Our Drovers Hut Events Centre is accessible for stroller, pram and wheelchairs. Ample seating is available to provide a more leisurely pace, with opportunities to rest and fully immerse in the natural atmosphere.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING BAYS are located in our main carpark. If all spaces are allocated and you require assistance, speak to our friendly team.

CARERS & COMPANIONS CARD PROGRAM
We offer free entry for carers upon presentation of a valid 'Companion Card', National companion card holders will require a general admission ticket or annual pass.
WHEELCHAIR HIRE
We have a wheelchair available for hire - free of charge. Due to limited availability, it is recommended to book in advance.
ASSISTANCE DOGS
We acknowledge that some guests require assistance dogs when they visit us, and we have procedures in place to facilitate this and safeguard the welfare of our Featherdale animals. If you are planning to visit with an assistance dog, kindly email our Reservations Team at least 48 hours before the date of your visit. We will then liaise with our Animal Care team so we can all safely extend a warm welcome to you.

We have 3 picnic areas each seating around 50 people. These are not able to be booked but can be used by all park guests.

HOW MUCH ARE FEATHERDALE SYDNEY WILDLIFE PARK TICKETS?
Entry tickets to Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park are $44.00 for adults, $28.00 for children aged 3-15 years and children 2 and under free. We have special discounts for seniors, concession card holders, and combo deals for entry & encounters. Save 10% when you book your tickets online.
DO I NEED TO BOOK ONLINE OR CAN WE JUST BUY TICKETS AT THE ENTRY
Booking online is a quick and easy way to prepare for your visit! You'll also save 10% when you book online. Just print the email confirmation you receive. If you don’t have access to a printer, bring along your smartphone with a screenshot of your confirmation email, including the confirmation number. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate upon arrival.
ARE YOU OPEN ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS?
YES! We are open 8:00am – 5:00pm every day. We are open from 8am - 2pm on Christmas Day (Last entry 1pm)
DO YOU HAVE WIFI AT THE PARK?
IS SMOKING PERMITTED IN THE WILDLIFE PARK?
NO. Smoking and vaping are not permitted within the Featherdale grounds. Please retain your admission PASSPORT for re-entry if you choose to exit to smoke during your visit.
DO YOU HAVE ANNUAL PASSES AVAILABLE?
Our Explorer Annual Passes are the best value annual passes around! Choose from our Ultimate Explorer Pass for unlimited entry to 3 wildlife parks - Mogo, Featherdale Sydney and Hunter Valley Wildlife Park, a Super Explorer Pass to your choice of 2 of our wildlife parks, or a Classic Explorer Pass for unlimited entry for a year to Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park. CAN I HOLD A KOALA AT FEATHERDALE WILDLIFE PARK?
Guests cannot hold a Koala. It is against the law in the State of New South Wales to hold a Koala without the appropriate accreditation. Our Personal Koala Experience allows guests to get up close and pat a koala under the guidance of a Zookeeper and includes a souvenir photo package.
HOW LONG SHOULD I PLAN TO SPEND AT FEATHERDALE WILDLIFE PARK?
We recommend around TWO hours to see our enormous collection of Australian animals. However, you are most welcome to spend the day amongst the Kangaroos, Koalas and all of our other incredible furry, scaly and feathered friends.
HOW IS OUR WILDLIFE PARK DIFFERENT FROM A ZOO?
The idea behind our wildlife park is to educate and inspire people and to create a haven for our native wildlife. We aim to bring you into an animal's world, in an environment where the animals choose their level of interaction.
DO YOU ACCEPT EFTPOS AND CREDIT CARDS?
YES! We accept EFTPOS and all major credit cards (including American Express and UnionPay) in our Admission Office, Kitchen & Cafe and Souvenir Store. You will only need cash if you wish to purchase Animal Food while within the park.
DO YOU RESCUE INJURED ANIMALS?
NO. We cannot come and collect injured animals from any location. For injured animal enquiries or collection, please contact WIRES on 1300 094 737.
CAN YOU REMOVE A SNAKE FROM MY HOUSE OR YARD?
NO. We cannot provide assistance with catching snakes. However, there are several services available for you. For reptile removals, please contact Sydney Snake Catcher 1300 559 938. http://sydneysnakecatcher.com.au/
IS FEATHERDALE SUITABLE FOR WHEELCHAIRS OR PRAMS?
YES! The park is set on a very flat 7-acre block with smooth paved pathways and plenty of shady places to rest along the way. Most enclosures have a double-gated entry for easy access, and we have plenty of staff around the park that are happy to offer assistance if required. There are disabled access bathrooms at the entry of the park and baby change tables in each bathroom located throughout the park. We also have ONE wheelchair available for guest use – it is subject to availability and requires advanced booking. Please phone (02) 9622-1644 to enquire.
IS THERE FOOD AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?
YES! The Treehouse Café is located at the top of the park and provides plenty of hot food options, as well as fresh sandwiches, ice creams, tea/coffee and cold beverages.
CAN I BRING A PICNIC LUNCH?
YES! We have two shady picnic areas for yourself, your family and friends to enjoy. You are most welcome to bring a picnic lunch. However, we cannot provide storage, utensils or condiments. Picnic table reservations are NOT essential as we offer this on a first-come basis. Please note, the consumption of alcohol and smoking of cigarettes is NOT permitted within the park grounds.

WHAT COURSE SHOULD I STUDY TO WORK AT A WILDLIFE PARK OR ZOO?
TAFE and University both offer courses in animal related fields. TAFE offers a Certificate II course in Animal Attending. You can also do Certificate III and IV in Captive Animal Management. Visit TAFE NSW for further information or to apply for a course.
