What is a Mammal?

Mammals are warm-blooded vertbrates with fur or hair and mammary glands. In Placental or Eutherian mammals, the foetus is provided with nutrients from a placenta. In Marsupial mammals, the offspring is born at an embryonic stage and completes development in a pouch. In Monotreme mammals, the young hatch from an egg and develop in a pouch.
