Australia Day at Featherdale

Australia Day at Featherdale

19th January, 2015

Bring along the BBQ lunch and celebrate Australia Day with the family at Featherdale Wildlife Park! We're open 9am to 5pm and will be putting on some great wildlife encounters for the Kids to enjoy.  Get rapt in reptiles, make new friends in the farmyard nursery and see Ngukurr, a 4.5m Saltwater Crocodile catch his breakfast.  A family ticket is just $82.00 for 2 adults and 2 children (3-15 years).

ALL TICKETS HAVE SOLD OUT TO THE WAKE UP WITH THE WILDLIFE BREAKFAST

Featherdale's 'Wake up with the Wildlife' breakfast will again take place this Australia Day.  The popular event is run in collaboration with Blacktown City Council and the Riverstone Lions Club each year and provides Featherdale with the opportunity to give back to local residents who have supported the Park throughout the year.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the National Parks Association.  For any further enquiries, please contact Blacktown City Council on 02 9839 6000.  Entry to the event must take place between 7am and 9am.  After 9am, Featherdale's normal admission rates will apply.  A BBQ breakfast can be purchased at Featherdale on the day from the Riverstone Lions Club.

The National Park's Association is a NSW registered Charity with deductible gift recipients Status (DGR).   The funds from the Australia day charity event will be used to support the National Koala Count (NKC). The NKC is a citizen science project that sees the general community use a smart phone app to record koala sightings in the wild. This information is entered onto the Atlas of Living Australia and is used by land managers such as NPWS, Local Government and Local Land Services to improve conservation and management of koala habitat. This is a high profile project launched in 2013 by the NSW Environment Minister the Hon. Robyn Parker MP that is run annually in November each year.

Following the event, Featherdale Wildlife Park will be open on Australia Day to the public from 9am to 5pm.
