The Olive Python is one of the largest snakes in Australia, growing to 4 metres long and weighing in excess of 18Kg.

 
Scientific name: Liasis Olivaceus

Size: 2.5 to 4 metres

Status: Common

Diet: Small mammals, birds and reptiles.

Habitat: Rocky hills and ranges, savannah woodlands and forests.

Breeding: Lays up to 18 eggs are laid in summer after mating in the spring and the eggs hatch in 8-12 weeks.
