Diet: Feeds mainly on fish and also eats crustaceans and insects.
Habitat: Rivers, mud flats, edges of inland swamps, and shallows of wetlands.
Breeding: Breeds in loose colonies during early Summer. Three to six eggs are laid on a platform nest up to 15 metres above the ground.
