Scientific name: Erythrura gouldiae

Size: 14cm

Status: Uncommon

Diet: Feeds on range of seeds from the heads of tall grasses and some insects taken on the wing.

Habitat: Open woodlands and grasslands.

Breeding: Nests in a hollow of a branch or termite mound, four to eight eggs are laid between December and April.
