Scientific name: Callocephalon fimbriatum

Size: 34cm

Status: Common

Diet: Feeds mainly on the seeds of native trees and occasionally introduced conifers.

Habitat: Open forest, mountains in summer and lowlands in cooler months.

Breeding: Two white eggs are layed in a hollow tree, many metres above the ground.
